I understand most of you have come from Steam Chat Roleplay, so this is a little help on teaching you about Forum RP.

First off, it's more like writing a book than just typing /me. Example:

The brown coated pony trotted carefully down the alleyway, knowing at any moment they could catch him.

He began muttering to himself, "What have I gotten myself into..."

It's all the standard English, proper grammar, new line for speech etc. And Roleplays are almost always in past tense while writing them.

The roleplay isn't really real time either, you will most likely have to wait a day for the person to make a response due to time zones.

Feel free to start your own Roleplay, to do this, just post a topic and put down some OOC (Out of Character) information (Including a character sheet involving appearance, personality and a bit of backstory.) about what the RP is and give some time for people to write out their character sheets. You can decide when to start the RP. You should also include some tags in the title depending on what its going to be. [Adventure], [Grimdark], [Romance], [Sci-Fi]. Those are just a few examples.

That brings me to my next point, you don't have to have 1 OC (Original Character) throughout all the Roleplays. You can have one for each RP if you wish, or even more. Another thing different to Steam Chat RP. You will never RP a canon MLP character directly. Yes you can include them while writing, but generally your text will almost always include your character.

To speak Out of Character, just put (()) around your text ((Like so)).

Anyway, I hope this helps. Smile
